Am I Being Abused?

Domestic violence is hurtful.  Abusive behaviors are used by one partner to control and have power over the other partner.  These may include threats, physical assault, forced sex, financial control, isolation, and emotional abuse, like name calling.

How safe is your home? Are you in an abusive relationship? Use the following checklist to help determine if you are being abused.

Does your partner:

  •  threaten to hurt you or those you love?
  • hit, kick, or otherwise physically harm you?
  • control what you do and who you are allowed to see?
  • withhold basic needs such as food, clothing, sleep, or medical assistance?
  • always criticize you, call you names, or put you down?
  • make fun of you in front of your family or friends?
  • make you feel like you can’t make decisions?
  • blame you for how he/she feels or acts?
  • tell you that you are nothing without him/her?
  • constantly call you or show up at your work or home to make sure you are where you said you would be?
  • become extremely jealous?
  • keep you financially dependent?
  • force you into unwanted sexual situations?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we can help!!
