Domestic Violence Advocacy – Trained staff provide guidance and assistance as Victims Advocates in legal system. Domestic Violence Task Force – Participate in community-wide task force advocating and responding to local domestic violence issues. Community Education and Awareness Programs Understanding Domestic Violence – For adult civic and service clubs, churches, professional organizations and businesses - Provides an understanding of the realities, impact and scope of domestic violence in our community. Is My Relationship Hurting Me? – For women’s groups - Learn to recognize the signs of an abusive relationship; develop a safe plan of escape. Effects of Violence in the Workplace – For Company and HR Management – Strategic employer responses to violence; the effects of domestic violence in the workplace; the risk domestic violence poses to the employer. Teen Dating Violence – For pre-teen and teenage groups - How to prevent getting into an abusive relationship; warning signs and dating violence; how to make a difference in your school. Domestic Violence and the Faith Community – For clergy, staff and counselors - Identify resources for victims of domestic violence; recognize dangers and warning signs of abusive relationships. Domestic Violence and Legal Advocacy – For court personnel, law enforcement and attorneys - Identity the aggressor; help the victim in assessing the risk, developing a safety plan; victim’s rights.
